A first rate walking guide book to Boston that we suggest you purchase when visiting is Boston Foot Notes, A Walking Guide by Jane Grossman and Felice Yager with illustrations by Robert Bowden http://www.bostonfootnotes.com
There are five detailed walks with maps for each one: Back Bay; Beacon Hill; Cambridge; Downtown and North End; Waterfront and Charlestown. This book makes an excellent addition to our issue on Boston
